Originally bred in Northern Japan, this squash thrives in our cooler summers, making it a perfect local alternative to butternut squash. Its vibrant yellow-orange flesh has a rich, dry texture and a naturally nutty flavour. Delicious roasted, stuffed, or blended into soups, it’s as versatile as it is tasty. The skin softens when cooked, so there’s no need to peel. When stored in a cool, dry place, it keeps beautifully for several weeks. Our regular size of squash will be between 1.5 - 2kg.
